Wii Renovation Completed at Nintendo World Store

Located at Rockefeller Center, Nintendo World Store in NYC has completed their renovations and the Wii section is now complete. Customers can get hands-on with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Excite Truck, and Wii Sports in the store's spacious gaming area. Challenge your buddies in the multi-play area, visit the library of Wii games, and more. It looks like a really cool store. The official site is pretty sweet and has some extras that set it apart from the norm.

It sure beats the dark and dank gaming stores I have visited in life that smell of old pizza, feet, and dashed hopes and dreams.

Jack Thompson Attacks Wendy's Over Wii Promo

Just got word from the folks at Gamealmighy that, as they put it, "Our balmy friend, Jack Thompson, continues his 'heroic' crusade against violent video games by attacking Wendy's upcoming kids meal promotion for the Nintendo Wii version of Manhunt 2."

Now this is a bit misleading. Wendy's will NOT in any way promote the game Manhunt 2 through their kids meal promotion, but will instead promote classics like Mario and Excite Truck. The reason why Jackie is writing the letter, is because he believes that Wendy's association with Wii in general is bad on principle because Manhunt 2 will be released on the Wii.

While I would be the first to object to any sort of Manhunt 2 references in kids meal promotions (obviously), a simple thing of promoting the Wii is nothing any sane person should be concerned about.

Thompson attacks Wendy's over Wii promo

In his latest attack on the world of videogames, Jack Thomspon is calling on fast-food chain Wendy's to cancel a Kid's Meal Wii promotion.Reported on GameAlmighty.com, Wendy's is including Wii-related toys such as Mario, Excite Truck, Wii Sports, and the Wii remote with the meals; but it's the console's association with Rockstar's forthcoming Manhunt 2 which has caused Thompson to call for the promotion to end. In a letter sent to Wendy's CEO Kerri Anderson, Thompson said, I should like to alert you to the inappropriateness of the above upcoming promotion at Wendy's, in light of the below information.

In the latest chapter of his crusade against the world of violent videogames, the outspoken attorney Jack Thompson has attacked the fast food chain, Wendy's, in regards to its current Kids' Meal promotion, which the chain is running in partnership with Nintendo.

GameAlmighty.com reports that the meal in question is served with a variety of toys that include reference to Super Mario, Excite Truck, Wii Sports amd the Wii remote. However, it is the console's association with the forthcoming Manhunt 2 that is troubling our favourite anti-videogames campaigner . Below is the letter that Mr Thompson sent to Wendy's, warning the firm of the nature of Rockstar Games' violent title and asking them politely to end the promotion at once:

15:35 System 3 want to create Wii's 'Gran Turismo' (0)

One thing that Nintendo consoles have sorely missed over the past few years is a racing title to rival anything that Sony or Microsoft's is machines have offered up. However, developer System 3 hopes to change all that very soon, after acquiring a license from Ferrari to feature the company's vehicles in their upcoming Wii game, reports Aussie-Nintendo. In fact, the firm up hopes the goods they come up with will be enough to claim the title of the ‘Gran Turismo' og Nintendo's latest console.

CEO and System 3 founder, Mark Cale explained the following to Nintendo Gamer:

"The advantage we've got with the Wii is there aren't any great racing games on there.. Of course, on other consoles it's a harder challenge. But rest assured that what we want to do is create the Gran Turismo for the Wii," he said.
