Brothers In Arms Making Its Way To The Wii?

It has been no surprise that the next generation of Brothers In Arms is nothing short of impressive. While its still a ways off from release, every gamer is probably questioning whether Brothers In Arms: Hells Highway is going to make its way to the Wii? Well, with the success of Call of Duty 3, another World War II shooter probably wouldnt be a bad addition to Nintendos lineup.

Utilizing advanced physics (much like Midways Stranglehold), BIA: Hells Highway offers a whole new level of military combat and immersive warfare. So I contacted a representative at Gearbox to see if the developers had a little something cooking in the oven for the Nintendo Wii. Even though I hate to be a buzz-kill, the PR commented that... Currently, Gearbox hasn't announced anything regarding Hell's Highway and the Wii,

Although, given that Ubisoft is a heavy third-party supporter for Wii that doesnt mean there wont be a Brothers In Arms for Nintendos new system.

Gift guide for gamers

Sucks to be Santa this year, what with the absolute deluge of new video games, consoles, accessories and other goodies begging to be put under good boys' and girls' trees. Better buy a bigger sleigh, fat man.

Not surprisingly, it gets harder every year to put together a gamers' gift guide and whittle this cornucopia of digital delights down to a few choice fruits. If the editors would let me, I could fill a dozen pages with suggestions for holiday gift giving aimed at the thumbstick-twiddling set. Somehow, they fail to see how cool that would be.

But these handpicked items are all games or gaming gadgets that I've used myself, have been duly impressed with and would actually buy for someone, if I loved them enough.

Which isn't likely. Bah, humbug!

For the gamer with a spouse/roommate/grandma who's a light sleeper:

Tritton AX360 Gaming Headphones ($165)

The sonic barrage of an intense gaming session can rattle the nerves of even the most understanding cohabitant, especially when it's German mortar fire in Call Of Duty 3.

"Fea Mas Bella" carves out No. 1 rating

Not even the Thanksgiving holiday could stop Univision's smash hit series in Nielsen's Spanish-language prime time TV ratings for the week of Nov. 20-26."Fea Mas Bella," the weekday serial that spawned ABC's "Ugly Betty," posted a 14.1 rating on Thursday night on Thanksgiving Day and finished the week with a five-day average rating of 20.3 to top all Spanish-language programs viewed by Hispanics in the United States, according to Nielsen Media Research. The show's Tuesday night broadcast topped all other Spanish-language shows in the Hispanic viewing category with a 23.0 rating, equaling more than 2.6 million Hispanic viewers. ENTER THE VIRTUAL BATTLEFIELD IN UPCOMING TOURNAMENT AT GAMEFORCE

GameForce in Kingwood Town Center will be hosting a Battlefield 2 tournament on the weekend of December 9th in conjunction with the Rebels of Mankind squad. Battlefield 2 is set in the hypothetical modern-day war between the United States, China and a Middle Eastern Coalition.

Players begin the game as a soldier for one of the three opposing forces, but are able to commandeer numerous vehicles including jets and helicopters. They can also be promoted to the position of commander by their fellow team mates which allows them to map enemy positions and call in artillery strikes and supply drops. The game monitors the progress of a player, awarding medals and promotions as necessary which allow the players to unlock new weaponry.

The tournament will be a five person team game, which will limit players to infantry combat only.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance: PS3 vs. Xbox 360 vs. Wii

While Marvel Ultimate Alliance might not be the best title to show off the graphical capabilities of all three systems, it's still interesting to see how the three current-gen consoles stack up when running the same game. The PlayStation 3 version is noticeably choppier than the other two, maybe a product of the game running at 1080p. If you want a clearer look at the side-by-side-by-side, check out the HD version of the video for maximum nitpickery and flamewar ammunition. Michael McWhertor

Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded

We like a good retro compilation, with the Taito Legends duo, Sonic Mega Collection and the first two Midway Arcade Treasures collections being the very definition of good. Capcom Classics Collection Remixed - released on PSP only a few months ago - didn't make that list, as it was missing Street Fighter II and Ghouls 'n Ghosts. But now that they're here, on both this tiny UMD and in our hands, we're reminded of an old saying: be careful what you wish for. Street Fighter II - available in normal, World Championship Edition and Hyper Fighting flavours - brought back plenty of gooey nostalgia, but the PSP's d-pad isn't really suitable for pulling off dragon punches and whatnot. Don't even try to do it with the analogue slider - more often than not Ken and Ryu ending up jumping all over the place instead of performing a hurricane kick.

Futuristic 'Gears of War' takes game world by storm

Despite all the media attention surrounding the two new gaming consoles— Sony's PlayStation 3 and Nintendo's Wii — the hottest action game of the holidays is a Microsoft Xbox 360 exclusive.

Selling more than a million units in its first two weeks of release, Microsoft Game Studios' "Gears of War" is an action-heavy sci-fi shooter that delivers an exhilarating and creepy experience for players 17 and older.
