Metroid Prime 3 release date

Nintendo have announced the release date for the eagerly awaited Metroid Prime 3: Corruption on Wii, along with some other dates. Bonza!These dates are US dates, so the European dates may differ slightly, but they are rather interesting.Metroid Prime 3 is slated for release on August 20th.Battalion Wars 2 is slated for release in September.Mario Strikers is also given a date, but we're getting that on Friday - long before the July release the Yanks have to put up with.The rest of the games aren't anything particularly exciting - Summer releases include Tiger Woods 2008, Madden 2008, a new Dave Mirra BMX game, and Space Station Tycoon.Here's the full list from Nintendo.Leave your comments below folks.

New Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Images

Hot off the news of yesterday's Metroid Prime 3: Corruption release date reveal, Nintendo has released some juicy screenshots of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption in action.

As you'll see in the gameplay screenshots, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption looks very similar to the Gamecube Metroid Prime games. There really seems to be no huge graphical update. The Wii specific controls are going to be the main focus with this game it seems, so I really didn't expect much in graphical upgrades.

Paper Mario Headed to Wii Virtual Console

With games like Metroid Prime 3: Corruption not due out until later this summer, and others such as Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. Brawl floating in a sort of release limbo, Super Paper Mario stands as perhaps the only decent Wii release in months for many gamers...at least those who were able to pry one from the dead fingers of their fellow shoppers.

However, Super Paper Mario is actually the third entry in a once-RPG series that started way back on the Nintendo 64 (with Paper Mario) and continued on the GameCube (with Paper Mario and the Thousand-Year Door). For those of you who've never enjoyed the original, though, Nintendo is giving you another chance.

If CVG, a computer and video gaming site apparently, is to be believed, than the latest issue of Nintendo Power, Nintendo’s official magazine here in the U.S., reveals that the original Paper Mario is headed to the Wii’s Virtual Console.

Mario Galaxy, Phantom Hourglass & Smash Bros. Coming In 2007

Reggie makes a lot of promises. Before the Nintendo Wii was released, he promised Nintendo had learned from their past mistakes and he promised there would be no drought of Wii games. And now we're experiencing a drought. Then he promised that Nintendo would up the production of Nintendo Wiis so they'd be available in stores. Nintendo Wiis are still hard to find in stores.

Now Reggie is making another promise. During Nintendo's media summit, Reggie promised that Super Mario Galaxy, The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and Super Smash Bros. Brawl would all come out before the end of the year. As much as I would love to believe Reggie, his track record of promising things and those promises coming into fruition are really poor.

If these promises do come true, it could be a great year for Nintendo Wii owners now that Metroid Prime 3: Corruption will be released this summer.

Het is al behoorlijk lang stil geweest rondom deze game. Gister hoorden we dat het spel op 20 augustus in de VS verkrijgbaar zal zijn en vandaag hebben we vijf screens en een logo voor jullie klaar liggen. In het nieuwe deel zal Samus wederom een planeet moeten verkennen. Dit maal zal het ietwat anders gaan dan normaal, omdat het gehele spel is aangepast aan de besturing van de Nintendo Wii. Wij zullen het spel iets later dan de Amerikanen moeten verwelkomen, maar het zal niet veel later zijn. Hopelijk wordt het laatste deel uit de trilogie net zo goed als de eerste (twee).
