Fable 2 video diaries on lionhead.com

Episode One of the "Lionhead video diaries" has debuted on the official Lionhead Studios Website and Live Marketplace, kicking off an ongoing series of video diaries with the Fable 2 game development team, including Peter Molyneux.

The episodes provide a look behind the scenes of the long-awaited sequel to the 2004 Xbox exclusive. Get a sneak peek inside the game, as well as to know the people behind the action.

Being a hero, fighting, questing and adventuring are central to Fable. With the upcoming release of Fable 2, gamers will be one step closer to fulfilling their dreams of being good or evil, getting married or remaining single, and finding out what it means to experience unconditional love in the world of Fable.

Each installment of the video diaries will walk gamers through the development process and will answer questions fans have been dying to know such as, "What is the deal with the dog?", "How do you show unconditional love in a video game?", "How does the new combat system work?" and "What is it really like to work at Lionhead?"

Fable 2 offers even more choices and builds on the core gameplay theme of Fable, where your every choice continually defines who you become, allowing you to live the life you choose.


Lionhead Video Diary for Fable 2 Coming to Xbox Live

Beginning on May 24, 2007, Episode One of the Lionhead video diaries will debut on the official Lionhead Studios Website and Xbox LIVE Marketplace, kicking off an ongoing series of video diaries with the Fable 2 team, including Peter Molyneux.

On May 3rd in LA, and again on May 9th in New York, Sony Online Entertainment gave members of the press a sneak preview of what they have planned for the coming year at SOE Gamers Day 2007. For fans of the Massive genre there is some interesting stuff here, as the generally very traditional company discussed new titles and initiatives that move SOE beyond its current crop of fantasy and sci-fi titles. Kung Fu Hustle is probably the biggest departure for the company, introducing an eight-player online fighting experience that's mostly free-to-play. Players will be asked to pay a fee after a certain amount of play time every day, but as with an arcade game, skilled players can extend their play time almost indefinitely.


MI6 Game Marketing Conference: Burger Kings Excellent Gaming ...

When you think of video games, Burger King doesn't come to mind. But Russ Klein, president of global marketing, strategy and innovation at Burger King, gave a convincing talk that his company "gets it" when it comes to games. Klein delivered the opening keynote at the MI6 game marketing conference in San Francisco on Tuesday. I know, I know, you missed all those Burger King games on the Xbox last season while you played Gears of War. Me too. But hear me out.

Klein ran into Chris DeCesare, director of creative marketing at Microsoft, in the summer of 2005 at a conference in the south of France. Klein talked about how Burger King was reviving its brand with the social marketing campaign behind the "Subservient Chicken," a controversial mascot that wore a garter belt. DeCesare talked about "ilovebees.com," the alternate reality game that preceded the launch of Halo 2.


Mad Catz Expands NFL Agreement

Mad Catz Interactive announced today that it has expanded its license agreement with National Football League Properties. The old 2004 agreement has been changed to allow Mad Catz to distribute licensed products in the U.K., Canada and Mexico in addition to the U.S. Mad Catz makes NFL team controllers and other accessories for the PS2, PS3, PSP, DS Lite, Wii, Xbox and Xbox 360.

"The expansion of our NFL license is consistent with our overall strategy to offer both new and existing higher margin licensed products and accessories to gamers worldwide," said Darren Richardson, President and CEO of Mad Catz. "The National Football League is the most popular spectator sport in the U.S. and Mad Catz is pleased to support the 32-team league's increasing focus and commitment to international markets by providing stylish branded accessories for gamers in the United Kingdom and all of North America.


Lionhead Video Diaries Document Fable 2 Development

Gamers hungry for hype and information about Lionhead Studio's sequel to the popular Xbox game Fable should be sated soon. Starting today and continuing well.. whenever they post a new segment, Peter Molyneux and the crew behind Fable 2 will be posting videos detailing aspects of the game and production to Xbox Live! and the Lionhead website.

According to the Microsoft press release each video in the series will answer gamer questions about the title and demonstrate the development process and people behind the game. Fable 2 is set 500 years after the original title and is a direct sequel in the sense that it shares the same world that players may find greatly changed from the original yet familiar.
