Medal of Honor

That is exactly what Medal of Honor: Airborne players will have to parachute into when they boot up their respective game discs (PS3, Xbox 360, PC, or PS2, as well as the Wii, but no specific media available for Nintendo's console yet).

This is the gameplay trailer to Electronic Arts' newest addition to the MoH series, uploaded to YouTube by wastingnick. Are these clips of the action running off Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3? Can't tell (we downloaded the same trailer from IGN to get a closer look), sure looks pretty enough, but don't quote us on that.

Anyway, airsickness is the least of your worries if you're going to jump into this:

Brown gets tested by double duty

FOXBOROUGH -- For the third straight year, receiver Troy Brown has bailed out the Patriots' banged-up defensive backfield by playing cornerback, mostly on third down in the slot. He gains a greater appreciation for the task each season.

"It's tough," the 14-year veteran said. "You have different types of receivers. Big. Strong. Quick. Big and quick. Small and quick. Small and fast. You just never know where they're going or when you're going to get picked on by somebody."

The 35-year-old Brown has fared well the last two weeks as his defensive snaps have increased. He has lined up against Green Bay's Donald Driver and Chicago's Rashied Davis and Muhsin Muhammad, and could be called upon again today if defensive back Chad Scott (groin) is sidelined for the second straight week.

New games

"The Sims 2: Pets" brings the PC life-simulation to Sony's handheld PSP. The release retails for $40. It's rated T for mild violence, suggestive themes and crude humor.

"Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent" comes out for Nintendo Wii after being released for other systems. It's the latest story of spy meets men he has to silently kill. The release retails for $50. It's rated M for blood, language and violence.

Jason Gardner looks at what we're going to be buying this ...

Coming up with a Christmas wish list is a serious task for most children. I remember as a kid that the summer was hardly over before I was pacing the floors awaiting the arrival of my Mum's Autumn/Winter shopping catalogue. The weeks building up to Christmas would find me poring over the pages in the toy section, drooling over pictures of Meccano and Millenium Falcon's (Han Solo's spaceship from Star Wars for the uninitiated.)

I even remember one desperate Christmas having to haggle with my Father over the suitability of a Commodore 64 computer as my Xmas haul. I tried to convince him that I'd put it to educational use, learning to write programmes that converted centigrade to fahrenheit etc. He saw through my thinly veiled motives and realised I just wanted to play Yie Ar Kung Fu.

04:18 Medic, medic: Call of Duty 3 patch to fix issues (0)

A poster on the Xbox.com forums with the gamertag fourzerotwo, claiming to be the Community Relations Manager for the Infinity Ward team, posted an update about a Call of Duty 3 patch that's currently in the works. A follow-up post by a member of Treyarch's team, Axis0f3vil, aka Dan, confirms the patch. More details after the break.
