Army of Two Gameplay Trailer in High Definition

Last week, we were surprised when we found out that the General Manager of EA Montral, who is also the Executive Producer of Army of Two, said on public that Gears of War brings nothing in terms of innovation. Not only is unusual for a develop to critize someone else's work, it is also funny that the criticism went to the hottest Xbox 360 game that is receiving great reviews around the globe. Well, today is Alain Tascan's opportunity to show his work. EA has released the very first trailer of Army of Two, featuring gameplay footage. Army of Two is a third person co-op shooter that focuses on gameplay centered around TWO man missions, TWO man strategies, TWO man tactics and a TWO man advantage. On or offline, players can seamlessly transition from AI to a live partner as they fight their way through the game.

Crysis and Army of Two delayed

In EA's quarterly financial conference call, executives have revealed that Crytek's first person shooter, Crysis, and Army of Two, the strategic cooperative game from EA's Montreal studio, have been delayed to EA's fiscal 2008, which begins on April 1, 2007. We won't bore you with all the fine details of the report, but here's a snippet of the report which shows that EA's successful quarter was mainly driven by the sales of their sport titles: EA's quarterly results Net revenue for the second quarter was $784 million, up 16 percent as compared with $675 million for the prior year. Sales were driven primarily by Madden NFL 07, NCAA Football 07, FIFA 07, NBA Live 07 and catalog titles. Gross profit for the quarter was $445 million, up 14 percent year-over-year. Net income for the quarter was $22 million as compared with $51 million for the prior year.

Crysis & Army Of Two Delayed For Even More Sequels

Its no big surprise that two of the best looking games that were supposed to be released in early 2007, are now delayed. In a press statement indicating that they are working on several new sequels, EA announced that two of their hottest LPs are going to be pushed back until sometime in 2008. And if the title doesnt give it away, those two titles happen to be Army of Two and Cryteks Crysis Crunch. Okay, its not called Crysis Crunch, its just Crysis.

Some of the sequels EA is currently working on and planning for release on the Xbox 360 and PS3, include exclusive Lord of The Rings material (although the details are sketchy and nothing has been confirmed for the games features), and a Harry Potter sequel. The chief financial officer for Electronic Arts, Warren Jenson, revealed to gameindustry.biz that the hyped shooter for the Xbox and PS2, Black, will also be receiving a sequel along with Simcity.
