Let's face it: at 10 bucks, Doom on XBLA is a bit of a rip. Oh, sure, it's a swell game, and it has a lot of historical cachet. After all, it's the game the cro-magnons first played to learn how to deathmatch. But it's a thousand years old; it's main programmer has withered away from a vibrant young nerd to a desiccated husk. And games should depreciate in value when they get old. This isn't Michalengelo's meconium we're talking about here. But what if you could only pay 5 bucks? Wouldn't that be kinda worth it? Well, you're in luck: there's a loophole in the XBLA usage restrictions that will let you play downloaded games on other 360s as long as you log in to that system once with your Xbox Live profile. So you transfer the profile to a memory stick, log-in and download the game to that second console. Florian Eckhardt PC Game Review: Battlefield 2142 Yes, EA and Dice are at it again with the newest installment of the Battlefield franchise. Boasting that ever familiar 64-player, arcade styled, jump-into-any-vehicle-at-any-time, team killing, explosion filled, sniper-whoring, and spawn-camping fest that we lovingly call the "Battlefield Multiplayer Experience," and oh how we love it so. This game will be familiar to anyone who has played Battlefield 2, so familiar in fact that Battlefield 2142 almost seems like a mod, or a flimsy upgrade with higher system requirements (and this game is quite demanding). It has the same squad-system, commander system, and ranking system. The story is pretty basic, it's set in the 22nd Century, after a new ice age in which the ice from the North Pole spreads and pretty much destroys hundreds of countries including North America. In The Sims 2 there is a master code, sometimes referred to at the Cheat Gnome code. The first step is to activate the cheat gnome by entering the master code. Then, the gnome will appear on the front lawn. PlayStation 3 Info, Launch Releases, and upcoming Cheats The PlayStation 3 is Sony's newest effort to their highly successful line of PlayStation consoles. The third generation of PlayStation will be released in the United States on November 17, 2006, although it appears that initial quantities will be quite limited. Oddly enough, after stating that they were prepared for a word wide launch, Sony switched the European PS3 release date to March of 2007. Perhaps this is due to Microsoft's somewhat botched launch of the Xbox 360, a direct competitor of the upcoming PS3 unit, along with the Nintendo Wii. Sony has stated that the PlayStation 3 console will be backwards compatible with all previously released PS One and PS2 video games. The PS3 will come in two flavors, the biggest difference of the two will be the size of the hard drive. The PS3 Basic will have a 20 gig hard drive and the PS3 Premium will have a 60 gig hard drive.
