THQ Unveils 2007 Nickelodeon Game Lineup - Posted by Kyle on ... THQ today announced the company's 2007 Nickelodeon video game lineup. The upcoming portfolio will include the debut of El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera, as well as all-new titles based on some of the top-rated kids TV shows including SpongeBob SquarePants and Avatar: The Last Airbender. Nickelodeon fans can also look forward to a new installment of the popular Nicktoons. In addition, THQ plans to release new adventures based on highly-rated Nickelodeon live-action TV shows Zoey 101 and Drake and Josh. The company's overall portfolio is expected to ship across multiple game systems, including the Xbox 360, along with Nintendo's Wii, the PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance.
"Our Nickelodeon video game portfolio continues to lead the kids market with more than 45 million units sold-in to date," said Bob Aniello, senior vice president of worldwide marketing, THQ. LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Continuing its relationship with Nickelodeon, THQ on Monday unveiled a lineup of kids video games that feature popular characters from network shows including "SpongeBob SquarePants," "Avatar: The Last Airbender," "Zoey 101," "Drake and Josh" and "El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera." "El Tigre," which targets ages 6-11, will be making its video game debut. All the games begin to hit shelves this summer for Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance Nickelodeon vp digital products Shaul Olmert said that "El Tigre" reflects the Latino culture through a combination of humor and superheroism and also offers kids the opportunity to connect with good-vs.-evil story lines with morals at the end of each episode.
Xbox 360 Gets First Nickelodeon Title; New Wii Games Announced THQ today announced the company's 2007 Nickelodeon lineup, including the first title to be released for the Xbox 360. That title is Avatar: The Last Airbender - The Burning Earth, which follows the TV show's second season storyline. In it, Aang teams up with friends to defend the Earth Kingdom against the Fire Nation threat. It will also be released for the PS2, Wii, DS, and GBA. Two other titles will follow the PS2/Wii/DS/GBA low-cost release route (avoiding pricey next-gen systems), including Nicktoons 2007 and SpongeBob's Atlantis SquarePantis. El Tigre will get its video game debut this year, in a game scheduled thus far for just the Nintendo DS. Meanwhile, the live action duo of Drake & Josh and Zoey 101 will both receive new installments on the DS as well, despite being poorly received (critically at least) on the GBA in outings earlier this year (we'll have our own verdict of both those games shortly).
