Battlefield 2: Modern Combat Xbox 360 Tips

When playing the “Conquest” mode in multiplayer, if you have a helicopter available load in four guys and fly over all the closest flags. If everyone coordinates, you can parachute out one by one and capture four flags pretty quickly.

Avoiding Missiles When flying a helicopter in Multiplayer mode, if you start to get laser targeted (not GTAM), fly as fast as possible, and at the same time get as low to the ground as you possible. If done correctly, the missile will hit the ground and miss you most of the time.

EA Formation Unlock the Frag Grenade weapon challenge, then successfully complete all rounds and kill all enemies through round ten. If every enemy is killed, you will go into round eleven. In this round, the soldiers move and create the shape of first an "E", then an "A" as a reference to EA Games.

PGR4 Xbox 360 Details Revealed

Late last week, Microsoft spilled the beans on some of the features we should expect from Project Gotham Racing 4 this fall on Xbox 360. Highlights from the press release included:

Bizarre Creations wants to create "an emotionally-charged racing experience" by enhancing the career mode, profiles, and vehicles so players feel more attached to them. The new career mode will include a fanbase that grows as the player improves his or her skill and performance. The game will feature a dynamic weather system, so rain storms or snow flurries popping up in the middle of a race will not be uncommon. This will of course result in different race physics being in play in each of the game's 12 locations.Drivers passing opponents will pump their fists and show more emotion, to go along with a revised Kudos system that will work together with new A.I.

Wal-Mart and Microsoft Sued Over Fire Allegedly Started by XBox

A lawsuit has been filed that names Wal-Mart, Microsoft, and an unnamed power supply manufacturer as defendants. According to the suit, which seeks in excess of $50,000 in unspecified damages, the wiring connecting an XBox 360 to an electrical outlet overheated and started a catastrophic fire that claimed the life of Wade Kline, an infant that lived in the house in Warsaw, IL. "The fire was a direct and proximate result of the overheating of the game's power supply and wiring," says the complaint. Wal-Mart has already filed a motion to move the case from state court to federal court.

Here's an interesting point. The suit alleges that the fire was started by an XBox 360. But, the fire took place in December of 2004, prior to the launch of the 360. So, was the fire caused by one of the original XBox systems (which had more than 14 million Xbox power cords recalled in February of 2005, citing fire concerns), or is this just an attempt to drag a little cash out of the big boys?

A Microsoft spokesman said, "Microsoft recently learned about this tragic incident that occurred in December 2004.

Xbox Live provokes profits: in the black by 2008

I can quite easily imagine my bank manager's face if I went to him and said "I'm planning to work at a loss, if that's okay, and build up a few million in debt" - in fact I can imagine the sound thrashing he'd give me - but things obviously work differently in games console land. We already knew that Microsoft had applied some still-leaky sutures to the gushing wound that is their Entertainment and Devices Division, bringing losses down to a mere $315m; now division president Robbie Bach has given an interview assuring us that through a complicated sum of Xbox Live revenue and game royalties the console will actually turn a profit next year.

This should be good news for anyone with stocks in Microsoft, but it makes for interesting reading even if you're neither much of a gamer nor an investor.

Ken Nakazawa Speaks on Sony's Big Plans for the PS3 in India

The PlayStation 3 was the second next-gen console to be launched in India. GameGuru.in (GG) decided to have a chat with Mr. Ken Nakazawa (KN), Divisional Head, Sony India regarding the PS3 in India. Here is the whole interview:

GG: Sony has a strong base in India. Inspite of that, why was the PS3 launch delayed for this long in the country. Secondly, why was it not launched in India with the other PAL territories?

KN: Sony has adopted a Blu-ray zone-wise (A / B/ C) phased launch for the PS3. With India constituting a part of ‘Zone C', the PS3 was launched at the same time as countries in this zone namely Russia, China etc.

GG: What other PS3 related games and accessories are you planning to launch. Can you elaborate on the PlayStation Network?

KN: The PlayStation3 is available with a stellar line-up of over 12 game titles that include the critically acclaimed Resistance: Fall of Man, MotorStorm, Genji, Days of the Blade, FORMULA ONE CHAMPIONSHIP EDITION and Ridge Racer 7.

Shadowrun Review Xbox 360

Shadowrun is launched today onto the Xbox 360 and this Microsoft game developed by FASA Interactive looks set to be a winner.

Not just an online-focused first-person shooter as Shadowrun is Microsoft's first crack at Xbox 360 vs. PC head-to-head combat that adds that extra competitiveness to the gamers who not only want to play each other but also the war between what's better Xbox 360 or PC.

This is the first impression people will see of Microsoft's Games for Windows Live initiative.

Microsoft loves to charge fees to play online games, with having to pay for Xbox Live Gold subscription which many including me have done, but it does leave you thinking Why do the other gaming brands not charge?

PC gamers are not used to having to pay for some of these features and many PC gamers get these extras through services that can freely and easily be downloaded.

Microsoft Surface: What Media Center should have been - analyst ...

When I was briefed on Surface (previously code-named Milan) a few days ago, I was incredibly impressed. Having gotten used to disappointments like Origami, Zune, and even the Media Center PC where Microsoft didn’t actually finish the offering, this product was a breath of fresh air, largely because it was complete.
