Unreal Tournament3 web site comes to life

AFTER A SMALL name change the ground has finally been set for arrival of mega-hit title for this year, Unreal Tournament III. This game is being finalised as we speak, and haiving ditched UT2k7 to become UT III, it looks even more impressive now.

We first saw UT2k7 back at E3 2006 with a gameplay demonstration showing some serious kick-ass action and the power of two GeForce boards in SLI left a lasting inqpression on everyone present.

With the launch of the official site, Epic also released couple of new screenshots, showing what FPS gamers will play later this year. So if you are wondering are high-end DirectX 10 GPUs worth the money, take a good look a these pictures

Interviews with Assassins

Last month, I visited Ubisoft Montreal and interviewed Assassin's Creed Creative Director Patrice Desilets and Producer, Jade Raymond for the Official PlayStation Magazine. My feature appears in this month's issue (the one with GTA IV on the cover), but there was lots of interview I couldn't use in the piece. So here it is.

Ubisoft's visually awesome action adventure, set during the violent maelstrom of the Third Crusade, is an enormously ambitious project. The player takes an ambiguous role in the proceedings, an operative of the original assassin sect, your job is to kill nine men with controlling interests in the conflict - but are they part of a larger conspiracy? Think Leon meets the Da Vinci Code in downtown Damascus.

It's an interesting concept, made more intriguing by regular hints that this might all be a virtual reality simulation, or a 'genetic memory'.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma gone gold!

Ninja Gaiden Sigma is the PlayStation 3-remake of the Xbox-classic Ninja Gaiden. Not only the graphics will be completely renewed (that's only natural), but there will be new weapons, moves, a new character and more available. The game went gold a few hours ago, which means the final version is ready for massproduction and we can buy it in the near future. After a release in Japan on 14th June and America on 4th July it's Europe's turn, "somewhere during the summer".

Pit passes

This Sunday, the Barona 1/8th-Mile Drag Strip hosts the 32nd edition of Eyres' San Diego Antique Drags. The event begins at 8 a.m. and runs until it runs out.

As of yesterday afternoon, Eyres had received 165 entries, which means the event will meet the unofficial limit of "around 180 cars."

And the rules are unchanged. Eyres has eliminated the eliminations. You run until you don't want to run anymore.

"We're open to anything," says Eyres. "But the faster you can go, the tougher the inspection. We have a sliding set of rules."

One of the rules, if your entry is piloted by an engine made in 1953 or earlier, there is a special line that hurries you to the track. "I love vintage power," said Eyres.

Entries are coming from as far as Arizona, Nevada and Oregon.
