To the throne room! Dark Age of Camelot's chapter quest tests

So, now that Dark Ages of Camelot's "Show Me the Mino-Relics" event is over and done with, how's everyone doing? A little peachy, aren't we? Well now, you can't just go about raiding here and there and everywhere all the time, no can you? You'd want something interesting to pop up from time to time.

Good thing Missy Hatch is up to the task once again, and so should you. She's setting up another event for all you lucky little beta-boys and -girls to participate in.

We'd like to get some groups from each realm together on Thursday 11/09/06 and Friday 11/10/06 to test the Labyrinth of the Minotaur chapter quests, Chapters Two and Three, for general quest bugs and playability. Those who can make it, meet at 7pm EST outside of each realm's Throne Room. Leading the event will be: MythicCL, MythicBrendan, MythicChristian, and MythicMatt.

Crysis Developer to Flee Germany?

Recently, there have been some rumblings of banning "egoshooters" in Germany, after some nutjob shot 11 people. If that happens, the Yerli brothers (Crytek CEOs) have stated that they will leave the country. You can read (or watch) the translated FocusTV video interview at InCrysis. .

Crysis Trailer To Break Hearts, Wallets

If you ever needed further reason to see that upgrading your PC is a fruitless, self-harming pastime, you can always go here and check the new HD Crysis trailer.

Seriously, my wallet hurts just thinking of how woefully unready my PC is for this. If you're one of the four people in existence who'll be able to play this thing at the "recommended" level, look us up next year and tell us how it all went. Luke Plunkett

Crysis gets delayed, we all cry

The talented chaps at Croteam, the development studio behind the eagerly-anticipated Crysis, have always told us that they expect to ship the game before Windows Vista hits. The game doesn't require Direct X 10, and there were some hints that we could see a surprise hit before Christmas - or at the very least, early in the new year, before Vista launches on January 30. Well, put any such aspirations out of your mind. Crysis won't now be shipping until April 2007 at the earliest. This is, to put it mildly, gutting. The news came in EA's earnings conference call, which also revealed that Army of Two, a PS3 co-op exclusive, would also be pushed out. Gamers have been ogling at Crysis as the best-looking game currently in development and one that would fully take advantage of quad-core processors and uber-bleeding-edge hardware such as Nvidia's G80.

Crysis & Army Of Two Delayed For Even More Sequels

Its no big surprise that two of the best looking games that were supposed to be released in early 2007, are now delayed. In a press statement indicating that they are working on several new sequels, EA announced that two of their hottest LPs are going to be pushed back until sometime in 2008. And if the title doesnt give it away, those two titles happen to be Army of Two and Cryteks Crysis Crunch. Okay, its not called Crysis Crunch, its just Crysis.

Some of the sequels EA is currently working on and planning for release on the Xbox 360 and PS3, include exclusive Lord of The Rings material (although the details are sketchy and nothing has been confirmed for the games features), and a Harry Potter sequel. The chief financial officer for Electronic Arts, Warren Jenson, revealed to gameindustry.biz that the hyped shooter for the Xbox and PS2, Black, will also be receiving a sequel along with Simcity.

Intel's G965 embedded graphics stink - official

AMD SET UP a nice demo of embedded graphics for all to see and play with. The thought was that all the CPU power in the world does not matter if your GPU stinks. And, as we have been pointing out, the G965 does stink.

Let's be clear here. The G965 is not a gamer's platform, it is a low-cost, low-power way to get a livable amount of pixels onto your LCD. Do not expect FEAR to run a zillion FPS, or for Crysis to even run for that matter, it is all about the top 10 games.

These are defined by sales, and they are dominated by things no respectable gamer would touch with a 10 foot (3.3M, use Google for exact numbers) pole. At last look, four of those ten were The Sims. And Lego Star Wars is a perennial favorite. They are a year or more old, way behind the curve, and sell in the millions just like the embedded graphics chips.

Crysis Programmer on Vista Audio Apocalypse

Wondering what sort of audio Crysis is going to have in lieu of the upcoming Vista 3D Audio Apocalypse? Crytek Audio Programmer Tomas Neumann had this to say: There are no plans to support OpenAL. All effects we are using are real-time DSP effects, or reverb. That provides the same sound quality to everyone on any platform (like Vista) with any sound card. .

'Crysis' with a difference - 14-year-old designer of T-shirt line

Peter-John Gentles, student, wearing one of his own designs. This black and grey long-sleeved shirt is ideal for the male who wants to make a statement.

Keresa Arnold, Outlook Youth Writer

There's a 'Crysis' in Jamaica - a fashion 'crysis' that is threatening to take over the local T-shirt market with the use of creative poetry and arts.

The person behind this 'crysis' is a talented 14-year-old from Ardenne High School, named Peter-John Gentles.

Puzzled? Rest assured. 'Crysis' is no crisis. It is the name of the newest T-shirt line designed by Peter-John. It is so named because of the wars and other kinds of hostilities occurring around the world. The shirts are designed in collaboration with his mother, and they use the creative arts to express their thoughts and ideas about the world.
