God of War: Chains of Olympus for PSP - Fact Sheet

In 2005, Sony Computer Entertainment America's Santa Monica Studios introduced God of War, which many publications considered the best videogame of 2005 with over a dozen "Game of the Year Awards." Then in Spring 2007, the original development team introduced God of War II, the second chapter of this sprawling odyssey that went on to receive critical acclaim and with a 94% rating on GameRankings. Now, from the creative team that brought you the Daxter on the PlayStation Portable handheld entertainment system, Santa Ana-based Ready At Dawn Studios and Sony Computer Entertainment America's Santa Monica Studios bring you God of War: Chains of Olympus for the PSP system. Developed from the outset as an original story, God of War: Chains of Olympus delivers highly detailed graphics, incredible animation detail and yet another adventure in the dark and brutal world of Greek mythology that fans of the God of War franchise have come to know and love.

God of War: Chains of Olympus (PSP)

As work wound down on last year's excellent Daxter for the PSP, the folks at Ready at Dawn Studios were nearly hit with the tempting spell of sequelitis. "The natural reaction that everyone had was, 'Hey, you know what? Let's do Daxter 2,'" explained Ru Weerasuriya, co-founder and creative director of Ready at Dawn. "We had the engine, we had the team; we were accustomed to the style of gameplay. But, you know, we love to beat ourselves over the head, so we decided to kind of look around and see what we could do."

With much of the team obsessed with the then-recently released God of War, Ready at Dawn made a proposal to SCEA Santa Monica Studios, and the two studios found that their goals were similar: to expand the revered franchise without compromising what made it so great in the first place.

Sly Cooper Sneaks into Next-Gen

The latest PSM reports that not one, but two new Sly Cooper titles are PSP and PS3 bound. The games will also feature inter-connectivity between each other, and will be released simultaneously. Unfortunately, no details were given regarding the release date or the connective aspects. Sly Cooper 4, the tentative title for the PS3 game, will be on hand at E3 in July. The developers have said that "the graphics have been majorly overhauled and the gameplay will be more varied and focused this time around. We're aiming for a fully interactive 3D world, with no loads and seamless interaction between settings and characters." Sly Cooper has never really received the limelight that fellow PlayStation platformers Jak and Daxter and Ratchet and Clank have. Hopefully, with the PS3 release, itll be Sly Coopers turn.
