GTR 2
When GTR came out for the PC last year, I had no idea of how good a racing sim it could be. After being bored to death with the simplistic GT style racing of Sonys Gran Turismo series, it felt good to actually play a GT racing sim that not only looks amazing, but plays well, has a large car grid (six cars is so 90s,) and features challenging AI. Needless to say, 10Tacle Studios had a hit on their hands. Since then they have also released a classic version called GT Legends that featured GT racers from the 60s and 70s. With two excellent racing titles on their resume, 10tacle and Viva Media continue the great tradition of racing titles with GTR 2. And for those who enjoyed their past works, strap on a seat belt because while you will feel right at home dropped into this realistic racing world, you are going to want protection so you dont get whiplash.
Game Review: Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories I wasn't that big of a fan of the Liberty City Stories on the PSP, and certainly not on the PS2. It seemed like as a game, its main job was to prove that a Grand Theft Auto game could be done on the PSP, and as a tech demo in that regard it was impressive. The actual story was flat and the writing didn't have that sharp zing I expect from the GTA titles. In the time since its release things have changed: we have more respect for the power of the PSP while Rockstar has had some time to learn the hardware and see what it can do. So we know that the PSP can handle a real GTA game, and that the Rockstar teams knows how to use it. Can they now deliver a great entry into the series? Vice City Stories impresses instantly: the graphics are amazing. The screws have all been tightened since Liberty City Stories; this doesn't feel like a hacked down PS2 game anymore, but the real thing. Blimey! 10TACLE Wraps Around Ferrari A day after the licensing deal was announced, 10TACLE Studios has today confirmed that Blimey! Games will develop the untitled Ferrari racer.Many of the team at Blimey! (10T's London outfit), have had prior experience on racing titles, specifically GTR - FIA GT Racing Game", "GT Legends" and "GTR 2 - FIA GT Racing Game at SimBin Development Team, so it seems that the Ferrari name is in good hands."It is a tremendous opportunity to be able to develop a game under the Ferrari licence, the world's finest car manufacturer! Spike TV Takes Gaming to the Next Level Spike TV has upped the ante for the 4th annual Spike TV 2006 Video Game Awards (VGAs.) Joining host Samuel L.
