Mad Catz Announces Arcade GameStick

Mad Catz Interactive, Inc., a leading third party video game accessory provider, announced today that its Arcade GameStick for Xbox Live Arcade, Xbox 360 and PC will ship to major US retailers for availability this holiday season. Through collaboration with Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. and PopCap Games, Mad Catz has introduced a joystick controller bundled with three full Xbox Live Arcade games: Frogger, Time Pilot and Astropop. "Our launch of the Arcade GameStick is consistent with our strategy of developing new revenue streams from video game software bundled with a unique controller," said Darren Richardson, President and CEO of Mad Catz. Gothic 3 Demo Is Out For PC

JoWooD Productions, Deep Silver and Piranha Bytes are pleased to announce the release of the Gothic 3 demo, which offers players the ability to travel through the Ardea, Reddock and Kap Dun where they will experience the incredible vastness of this RPG - and will be able to dip into the living real world.

On this adventure you get to learn about two of the three main factions in the game; the rebels and the orcs. You then get to choose your mission;

1) Impress the orcs by fighting in the arena 2) Complete several quests for the rebels in their fight against the orcs 3) Have fun!

Story

You have saved the island of Khorinis from the forces of evil in Gothic I and Gothic II. Now it is time to travel to the realms of the mainland.

Invading Orcs have enslaved the human kingdom.

Gothic 3 Demo out on Friday

JoWooD Productions, Deep Silver and Piranha Bytes are giving due notice to the gaming public at large, that in two days time, for all those that have not yet played Gothic 3 - and experienced the incredible vastness of this RPG - they will be able to dip into the living real world with the release of the Gothic 3 demo, on Friday 10 November. At the start of this immense demo, you`ll be teared both into the beginning of the game and the exciting world of Myrtana by interacting with the folks and taking care of their troubles in Ardea, Reddock and Kap Dun. Kill the furious beasts of the wilderness, get your first useful and lethal items and step farther into the revealing storyline. In this demo, you`ll be facing two of the main factions the orcs and the rebels. Choose wisely for whom your sword will fight! Test-Run Gothic 3 Before You Buy It

With the success spreading for Piranha Bytes and JoWood Productions, they wanted gamers to share in that success. So to help boost the sales of Gothic 3, Jowood has decided to release a demo to the public, so people can give the game a test-drive before they buy it. It seems a little backwards considering the game is out already, but something is better than nothing.

Seriously, though, demos are released BEFORE a game comes out. However, this is usually the case for games that are bound to be a huge prospective for the publisher. So-so games dont conventionally get demos because of the amount of time and resources needed to separately develop and distribute a demo. In this case, Gothic 3 was a great game with so-so exposure. After the game crawled its way onto the top ten charts in several countries around the world, JoWood decided it was time to give the game a little extra push in the marketing department.

PC Review: Gothic 3

You have saved your home island from the forces of evil in Gothic I and Gothic II. Now it is time to travel to the realms of the mainland. Invading Orcs have enslaved the human kingdom. There are but a few free humans in the icy north and the southern desert and a handful of rebels hiding in the forests and mountains of Midland. You may either join the rebellion or serve the Orcish Usurpers but you will ultimately tip the scales and decide the outcome of the last war to save humanity. There is no simple linear story in Gothic III - every game will be different and unique - but all will ultimately lead to you deciding the fate of humankind. Platforms: PC .
