Death in many ways in Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures screens

Conan has seized the throne and his rule is heading towards a downward spiral. Chaos is inevitable, if it isn't already happening. Vengeful gods are making people's lives miserable. Mythological creatures are abroad. And every man and woman must forge their own destiny in the Hyborian Age.

This is the setting of Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures. In this game, gamers will be able to immerse themselves in the land of Aquilonia in either of two modes: 1) an online single-player RPG adventure, or 2) a dynamic MMO that hosts guilds, missions, and raids. While the game is based on the short stories of Robert E. Howard, Funcom's decided to keep faithful with the author's tone and graphic content, and expect their game to be rated by the ESRB as Mature.

No qualms there.

Call of Duty 3 - Review Xbox 360

Although there has been a change of development team and the game takes you through a comparable World War II scenario Call of Duty 3 is easily as good as its predecessor with sound and graphics to die for. Built from the ground-up, Call of Duty 3 takes full advantage of next-generation technology and a new physics engine to deliver a living battlefield where cover is ripped apart by gunfire and explosions; blades of grass are trampled beneath tank treads and soldiers' feet and uniforms wrinkle and fold like real fabric. Battle Actions require players to engage in life-or-death, hand-to-hand combat with enemies, plant explosives and fire mortars, further immersing them into the most authentic WWII experience to date.

Call of Duty 3 takes place near the end of World War II as the allied forces land on Normandy beach.

Dark Messiah : Might And Magic (PC Review)

Let me start by saying that there are three words that can sum up Dark Messiah, Action, Fights, and well, Blood. No, no it isn't all that bad. I mean, it has a few elements of what it is supposed to be, an RPG. When I say few I mean, just the bare minimum to upscale it from a mindless FPS to an RPG.

But this is one game that has the best of both the worlds leading to an FP-RPG experience that can either keep you hooked on or initiate and uninstall after the first hour. Read on to know more.

Concept And Story

The game's protagonist is Sareth, a capable disciple of the Wizard Phenrig. Sareth is intelligent and brave; he possesses knowledge of magic and is born with a destiny (like most protagonists). Sareth is looking for some excitement and wants some adventure in his life.

NIT champ Butler's a far cry from your basic Cinderella

The Bulldogs, having just completed its tear through an NIT Season Tip-Off field that included North Carolina, Gonzaga, Tennessee, Indiana and Notre Dame (of which only UNC did not fall to Butler), converged at mid-court. And they danced in a huddle, bouncing up and down, with their arms and fingers raised, soaking in the celebratory moment in the center of a big stage.

Now y'all know who Butler is! yelled forward Brian Ligon's mother, Mendee, from behind the bench as the players danced. I get aggravated because nobody gives them credit, she said later as the team accepted trophies. They call them Cinderella, and they're no Cinderella. They're a good team with a good coach.

Butler, a team whose biggest player is 6-foot-7 Ligon, beat No. 23 Gonzaga, whose leading scorer is 6-11 Josh Heytvelt, by a 79-71 margin that's not indicative of Butler's dominance Friday night in the championship game at Madison Square Garden.

Video Game Industry Report Card Improves

The National Institute on Media and the Family has issues its 11th Annual MediaWise Video Game Report Card analyzing the state of the video game industry from the perspective of parents, families, and controlling content available to children. After a disastrous report in 2005, which saw the industry given scathing reviews following the undisclosed explicit sexual content revealed by the "Hot Coffee" modification to Take 2 Games' Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, the report finds that things are generally looking up for the industry. Overall, MediaWise finds that retailers are doing a better job enforcing age restrictions associated with game ratings, and finds that increased parental controls present in next-generation game consoles are doing a better job of letting parents monitor and control gaming content accessible to their children.

Warhammer Online: 40K... of screenies

Were you expecting us to talk about the futuristic spinoff of Warhammer? Nope, the 40K here is the weight of the screens from GOA's Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning that landed on our desks (our HDDs, to be exact) this morning. We even have a bit of the backstory behind Thunder Mountain, that big bad Mt. Doom look-a-like that is our banner image for this article. Now, why do we have the sudden urge for cream strawberries and challenging the Dark Lord of this land to come out and face justice - oops, wrong fantasy story!

Thunder Mountain (a.k.a. Karag Dron to Dwarven tongues) holds a central place between the Dwarven capital of Karaz-a-Karak and the greenskin stronghold of Eight Peaks, which means it's hotly contested between these two forces. Whoever can control the mount also controls the prime invasion route to the enemy's capital.
