Grand Theft Auto IV trailer parody: Grand Theft Shaman IV
What happens when you mix Blizzard's World of Warcraft with Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto IV? Well, apparently you get Grand Theft Shaman IV. This spoof of the GTA IV trailer is hilarious. I mean, they've decided to cast Niko as a Draenei Shaman, tentacles and all.
The video is pretty well made, and the choice of shots were pretty good. They even copied the train scenes and the walk taken by Niko across the bridge. It would have been better if they added in some "in-game footage" to spice it up but the parody sticks very closely to its source material. The only difference between Wii and PlayStation 3 [control systems] is that the Wii uses a pointing device, whereas the Sixaxis has motion sensing. I'm actually sensing much more potential in the EyeToy camera, which could be used without holding any controller - [imagine if] you could just hold your hand up and pressing buttons by moving your finger. If with EyeToy they can recognise the left click of the mouse with just the move of a finger, that means any kind of PC games with left click [functionality] can be realised [on PS3]. There's a lot of potential there. I think it would be best if we could play using our hands, without even touching the controller. Well have more on LocoRoco 2 in the coming months. .
Sony turning PSP into Apple iPhone competitor
Sony will transform its popular PlayStation Portable (PSP) into a mobile phone and internet appliance.
BT and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) this week announced a deal to transform the PSP by adding wireless broadband communications functions, including high quality handheld video calls, voice calls and messaging.
The two companies have inked a four-year contract to develop extra features for the PSP, which has sold 24 million units worldwide and 8 million in Europe.
BT will be SCEE's lead wireless communications partner across SCEE territories,. which includes New Zealand, and is already working with other communications providers to deliver the new services, which will launch initially in the UK
BT has developed the ability to provide high quality video and voice calls over the internet as part of its 21CN project.
