Xbox 360 Platinum Hits Out

The first wave of Xbox 360 Platinum Hits is finally out in the Indian market with a promise to offer great value to next generation gaming enthusiasts in the country.

Microsoft has launched the Platinum Hits games lineup for Xbox 360, which essentially includes archetypal games that have sold about a million copies world-wide in a particular category, within a year of launch.

Sharing the idea of the Platinum Hits lineup, Mohit Anand, Country Manager of the Entertainment and Devices Division, Microsoft India, said, "The Platinum Hits program allows existing gamers and new gamers alike to have access to great games at a great price. Not only does the Platinum Hits program offer games at a great value, it also ensures that the platform's best games are available to customers at an amazing price."

The first wave of Platinum Hits includes Perfect Dark Zero, Kameo, Elements of Power, and Ninety-Nine Nights.

Brazilians Will Pay $1400 For the Xbox 360

Kotaku reader Marcelo turned us on to this Reuters piece, detailing the upcoming Brazilian launch of Microsoft's Xbox 360. What I thought was going to be a run of the mill launch in a territory that no one cares about... oops, I mean is largely ignored... turned out to be an eye-opening bit of news.

Microsoft will be the first manufacturer to sell direct to the market in Brazil, where importers reign supreme. But this privelege will come at a price: 2999 reias, which currently exchanges at $1400 US. That's a lot of reias! Tough to swallow, as importers will bring a 360 to you for close to half that price.

The premium console package will be bundled with a few games, Project Gotham Racing 3, Perfect Dark Zero and Kameo: Elements of Power, which makes the steel-booted kick in the wallet a little easier (games retail for close to $75).

The Associated Press - FORT BENNING, Ga.

First Sgt. Glenn Van Swol, who survived two wars, numerous parachute jumps and some of the Army's most demanding training, is about to embark on what could be his scariest mission: leaving the life he's known for 22 years and finding a new career as a civilian.

A veteran of both Gulf Wars, the Somalia humanitarian mission that cost 42 U.S. lives and the dicey U.S. peacekeeping mission in Haiti, Van Swol joined about 400 other soldiers and military retirees at a recent Fort Benning job fair to help chart a return to the civilian world.

Also on hand were 42 recruiters, representing trucking companies, law-enforcement agencies, major defense contractors and universities. The event was sponsored by Military2Civilian Job Fairs, a subsidiary of Bradley-Morris Inc., a leading military placement firm based in Kennessaw, outside Atlanta.
