After dark: Celebrate the new month at happy hour

The holiday season is in full swing, with events galore filling up the calendar. Even the non-holiday happenings seem to be a bit more exciting, a bit cheerier than normal, as everyone gets in the holiday spirit.

This week brings concerts, Midnight Madness, wine dinners and more to the plate read on to find out when and where all the fun will happen.

Celebrate the beginning of December with one of the great happy hours in town. If free food and craft beer is what you need, head to Rams Head Tavern (33 West St.) or Rams Head Roadhouse (1773 Generals Highway) where a lavish buffet of buffalo and specialty wings is served up every Friday from 5-7. Wash down those spicy wings with $1.95 Fordham drafts and $2.50 house wines, rail drinks and Jack Daniels drinks served from 4-7.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas Review (Xbox 360)

As the first next-gen entry in the franchise that many consider to be the crown jewel in Tom Clancy's video game empire, Rainbow Six: Vegas has some awfully high expectations to live up to. The development team at Ubisoft Montreal surely knew that every screenshot and video they released would be heavily scrutinized by the longtime fans who were eager to wash the foul taste of the disappointing Rainbow Six: Lockdown out of their collective mouth. The game also faces stiff competition from the other next-gen Clancy titles, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and Splinter Cell Double Agent. We're happy to say that while Vegas isn't without its issues, this is the game that fans have been waiting for ever since the stellar Rainbow Six 3 took the Xbox world by storm over 3 years ago. Unlike the previous games in the Rainbow Six series, Vegas actually has an engaging single-player campaign that doesn't feel like a collection of unrelated missions loosely tied together by a threadbare storyline.

'Rogue Warrior' (PS3/X360/PC) Developer Q&A

Rogue Warrior is a story-driven shooter that provides team-based tactical combat set in massive, contiguous levels using Unreal 3 streaming technology. Central to the game's single and multiplayer experience is the idea of a freeform battlefield, where players are given the freedom to choose how to complete a given objective, allowing for creativity and surprises, rather than heavily scripted events and tightly contained spaces traditionally used in this genre.

In Rogue Warrior, you play Dick Marcinko, leader of an elite SEAL unit trapped behind enemy lines in North Korea on a covert mission to assess the threat posed by North Korea's nuclear arsenal. When war breaks out between North and South Korea, you must try to lead your team back into South Korea while greatly outnumbered and with no support and limited resupply.

Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom

Originally, KUF was a unique strategy-action game; Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom will be turning the series into an action-RPG. Instead of controlling a whole army, you’ll be challenging hordes of foes either alone or with three other people over Xbox Live. The game has received some altering that even the hardcore fans like myself can appreciate in a game.

In the past, the two previous KUF games combined an interesting blend of action and strategy. Circle of Doom doesn’t follow its predecessors in this style of gameplay; instead of charging across the map with your army while you hack and slash your way through enemies, your hero will have to go at this alone. If you were used to having allies protecting you and forcing them to defend, well get ready experience a whole new Kingdom Under Fire.

Game of the Year Tournament 2006 Underway - Posted by Kyle on ...

The Game of the Year Tournament 2006 is now underway. Voting has begun to select this year's Game of the Year as 64 games face off against each other across virtually every platform. Voting will take place daily with a new match every midnight on the homepage until we have a Game of the Year. Unlike some other sites, we aren't stuck on our own opinions. We let you, the viewer, decide your own Game of the Year. Today's match pins #1 seed Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess against #16 seed The Rub Rabbits. Sega will need to pull a rabbit out of a hat to pull this one off.

This tradition is four years old and dates back to when we started Game Freaks 365. The best games from the Nintendo GameCube, PlayStation 2 and Xbox fought each other in a tournament of 32 games. Super Mario Sunshine came out victorious over Metroid Prime to win the first Game of the Year Tournament.

College Hoops 2K7 (Xbox 360) Preview

The College Hoops series has slowly taken over the college basketball genre and College Hoops 2K7 seeks to expand upon that success. With fine tuned graphics and several new features to enhance the gameplay, 2K7 might be the best college game ever. Hoops 2K7's newest feature is clearly inspired by George Mason's Cinderella run trough the NCAA Tournament last year. But what is this feature? The concept of team unity. Team unity means that even when you don't have the best players, but they play well as a team, you have a shot to beat even the best. When teams have a high team unity, they are better at doing everything they do in the court, from simple things like setting up screens, to getting a high field goal percentage or fight for the offensive rebound. Factors that affect team unity include how experienced your players are and how much time they spend in the floor together.

Sex, lies and sealed records in Fort Worth

For 18 years, Richard Sipe belonged to the brotherhood of Catholic priests. For the last 14, he has been helping their victims across America seek redress from men like Fort Worth Bishop Joseph Delaney – men who, as last week's unsealing of court records showed, have deceived their flocks and protected predators.

Time and again, people ask Mr. Sipe why moral leaders would do these things. The San Diego-area researcher explains with a little story, about a priest who challenged a bishop for denying knowledge of a sexual abuse case.

Prodi steps in as Mafia war rages out of control

Fraga Tudor is lucky to be alive. She had just come out of a caf beneath the frescoed, 16th-century archway of Porta San Gennaro, near Naples Cathedral, when a Mafia hitman on a motor scooter pumped bullets into Vincenzo Prestigiacomo, a small-time mafioso who was climbing the ancient stone steps outside.

Signora Tudor, 32, was hit in the leg and fell to the ground.Thank God I did not have my children with me she said.
