SEGA Rally Revo Updated Impressions (Xbox 360)

Its safe to say the SEGA has the arcade racing thing down pat. Franchises like OutRun and SEGA GT have solidified the massive gaming company in the motorsports realm over the years. You can also toss their SEGA Rally series into the mix, as it has been a pillar in the off-road racing scene for over a decade. Instead of re-hashing old SEGA Rally content from years past, the powers-that-be thought it would be best to update the IP for the next generation of super hardware. SEGA is so dedicated to upgrading their off-road racing franchise, in fact, that they created a UK-based studio for the task (and future tasks based on OutRun and SEGA GT IPs we hope). The result will be SEGA Rally Revo; a mud-slingin, next-gen racer thats due out this holiday season. We were curious about how SEGA might approach an older arcade franchise running in the next-gen.

Pit passes

This Sunday, the Barona 1/8th-Mile Drag Strip hosts the 32nd edition of Eyres' San Diego Antique Drags. The event begins at 8 a.m. and runs until it runs out.

As of yesterday afternoon, Eyres had received 165 entries, which means the event will meet the unofficial limit of "around 180 cars."

And the rules are unchanged. Eyres has eliminated the eliminations. You run until you don't want to run anymore.

"We're open to anything," says Eyres. "But the faster you can go, the tougher the inspection. We have a sliding set of rules."

One of the rules, if your entry is piloted by an engine made in 1953 or earlier, there is a special line that hurries you to the track. "I love vintage power," said Eyres.

Entries are coming from as far as Arizona, Nevada and Oregon.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles Review

April 30, 2007 - The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is widely regarded as one of the best action RPG's to come out in a long time. The game has received great praise from gamers for its successful combination of RPG and action combat elements. Given the success of such a game, expansion packs are certainly a possibility and Bethesda has delivered with the Shivering Isles. The expansion takes players to a completely new world. New creatures and environments all serve their purpose in solving the mystery of the Mad God. The story itself revolves around a sort of King of the Shivering Isles called Sheogorath. Everything in the isles is created by his mind and he needs the help of a warrior for a new challenge. Most of the inhabitants on the island have lost their minds but you have kept your sanity due to your important task.

Pentagon, State struggle to define nation building roles

For just $23.10, you can purchase a book from Amazon that will guide you through the invasion and occupation of a small country.

If countries such as Haiti, Liberia, or Sierra Leone, with about 5 million people and per capita incomes of approximately $500, were on your To Do list, The Beginner's Guide to Nation-Building estimates that you would need 65,000 international troops, at an annual cost of $13 billion.

In addition, you should plan for 8,000 international police officers ($1.25 billion) and lots of advisers to help establish the rule of law, provide humanitarian services, assist in governance, stabilize the economy, teach democratization, and support development and infrastructure work, for a total cost of some $15.6 billion a year.

The chief author of the recently released book, former U.S.

Elveon Interview

In all the different races and classes of fantasy characters, none are arguably more interesting than the elves. Graceful, lithe, proud, and stealthy; yet cold, calculating, and deadly all at once, elvish stories captivate audiences through stories of relatable humanism, such as author R.A. Salvatore's Drizzt Do'Urden, and with tales of their own struggle to define their place in a world they hesitate to call their own, such as with J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings.

Perhaps it is the endless well of possibilities from which elvish stories can be crafted that inspired 10tacle Studios to develop Elveon, due out later this year for the PC and Xbox 360. Elveon focuses on realistic combat and a gritty art direction, a different take for an elvish tale and one I thought warranted some further research.
