Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga announced

LucasArts and Travellers Tales have announced they are completely bringing Lego Star Wars into the next-generation with Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga for the Xbox 360, Wii and PS3. The game will combine Lego Star Wars and Lego Star Wars II while adding new features specially designed for each next-gen system. Travellers Tales will also be creating a new version of The Complete Saga for the DS from the ground up. The original DS release of Lego Star Wars II was riddled with bugs and this is no doubt an "I'm sorry" from the developer. More than a mere repackaging of the two earlier games, The Complete Saga will come complete with a bunch of enhancements. The game will include new playable characters (such as Watto, Zam Wessell, Boss Nass) and an upgraded Character Customizer to mix and match characters across the trilogies.

LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga Announced

LucasArts and TT Games have celebrated the 30th anniversary of the classic movie series that spans generations with the announcement of LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga. The Complete Saga enables families to play through the events of all six Star Wars movies in one videogame for the first time ever. Developer Traveller's Tales takes full advantage of the unique capabilities of all three next-generation consoles, while also adding new characters, new levels and new features. Players can build and battle this fall on the Wii, PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360 videogame system from Microsoft. Traveller's Tales is also creating an entirely new Nintendo DS version, developed brick by brick from the ground up.

The Complete Saga takes players to the most beautiful LEGO galaxy ever assembled with high-definition graphics on the PlayStation 3 system and Xbox 360.

Retail Radar: Lego Star Wars for Wii and PS3

With Lego Star Wars and its sequel already having tackled toy-themed games of the original Star Wars trilogy and its prequel films, there's nothing left for the franchise to do but move on, applying the same to other popular property. Take Batman, for instance.

But as the wizened Muppet Jedi master Yoda might say, "No. There is another." At least, there might be another, if new product listings on CD Universe are accurate. The retail Web site has listings up for Lego Star Wars: Complete Saga on four platforms: PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360, and Nintendo DS, each with an expected November 8 release date. The same four listings have also turned up in Wal-Mart's internal database of product codes.

Judging from the name, it doesn't take a huge leap of logic to suggest these are compilation titles that include both the original Lego Star Wars as well as last year's Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy.

LEGO Star Wars completes the saga

LucasArts and TT Games on Wednesday announced 'LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga', which enables gamers to play through the events of all six 'Star Wars' movies on the Wii, PlayStation3, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS.

According to the NPD Group, domestic sales of the two 'LEGO Star Wars' videogame releases reached nearly 7 million units through March 2007, and 'LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy' was the No. 3 best-selling title of 2006.

From the Trade Federation's "negotiations" with Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn in The Phantom Menace to the space battle above Endor in Return of the Jedi, 'The Complete Saga' allows players to kick some brick through 36 Story Mode levels, including Episode II's newly added high-speed pursuit of bounty hunter Zam Wessell.

LEGO Star Wars (and More) Headed to Wii

When Nintendo revealed the Wii, there was no doubt that many people were shocked by it. While in its last generation, the GameCube could really hold its own in the graphics department, the focus was changed for Nintendo’s latest. Instead of graphics, the Big N explained, the focus should be on gameplay. And, while many people may still scoff at that idea, those of you still unconvinced need look no further than the surprise success of the LEGO Star Wars franchise, which is comprised of two very fun games whose only real improvement on the Xbox 360 happened to be really shiny floors.

All in all, LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy exemplify what the Nintendo Wii stands for, which really makes this news even better: According to Nintendo-specific site Codename Revolution, both LEGO Star Wars games are headed to the Nintendo Wii, complete with controls reinvented specifically for the Wii Remote (which, really, shouldn’t be too hard, as the game only used like two buttons).

Asda slashes 360 software prices

Ahead of its 2007 Q1 financial update tomorrow, Asda has stated that it is to embark upon a fresh price war against its supermarket rivals, and aggressive discounting on Xbox 360 software appears to be leading the way.A story in yesterday’s The Sunday Times quotes Asda boss Andy Bond as saying that with the public feeling the pinch as the result of recent interest rate rises, it is more important that ever to keep prices low.Asda Online is currently offering a number of Xbox 360 titles at just £12.97, including Kameo, Prey and Gun. A number of other titles are also heavily discounted, including Dynasty Warriors 5: Empires for £13.97, Splinter Cell: Double Agent for £15.97 and Ninety-Nine Nights for £16.97.A number of games are also discounted to £17.97, including F.E.A.R., Lego Star Wars II, Pro Evolution Soccer 6 and Football Manager 2007.There are also a number of promotions on other formats.

LEGO Star Wars Complete Saga confirmed

We today learn officially what various retailer-led slip-ups revealed some weeks ago, namely that a new LEGO Star Wars game is on the way, jumping onto the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and DS this November. The Complete Saga will feature action from all six movies and will be released in celebration of the original Star Wars' 30 years anniversary.

Traveller's Tales are once again developing, and are this time promising the most expansive game in the LEGO Star Wars series to date. 160 characters will be playable, and there will also be the option to heavily customise your LEGO-based alter-ego, in true play mat style.
