An odyssey in education remembered

For many years, I have told all who would listen that I attended 13 schools in my abbreviated journey through formal education. The mystery why I thought that was some sort of distinction, but any time there was a lull in the conversation, out would pop, "I went to 13 schools, you know." Most of the time listeners were kind enough not to roll their eyes until I left the room.

Odyssey Marine Exploration Provides Update

TAMPA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Odyssey Marine Exploration Inc. (AMEX: OMR), a leader in the field of deep-ocean shipwreck exploration, provided an operations update today.

Odyssey's primary marine operations focus during the summer and early fall of 2006 was the survey, mapping and inspection of seven "Tripoli" search blocks in the Company's "Atlas" shipwreck search project. These search blocks overlapped with other "Atlas" targets, but were designed to completely cover the area believed to hold the target shipwreck code-named "Tripoli." The Company has completed the side-scan survey phase of the seven blocks and has nine remaining anomalies that require further inspection with a remotely operated vehicle (ROV).

The Company's new vessel has achieved its scheduled 2006 objectives in the "Atlas/Tripoli" search area and is currently in port completing minor repairs needed to meet Class requirements.

Lady Mocs Host Courtyard Classic This Weekend

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- The Lady Mocs return to the McKenzie Arena for the first time this year since the season-opener and will host the Courtyard Classic.

In the opening game, Eastern Kentucky and Western Carolina will tip off at 1 p.m. that will be followed by the Chattanooga-St. Joseph's match up.

Scouting the Lady Mocs - Playing perhaps their most ambitious schedule, the Lady Mocs are 3-3 on the year and returning home for the first time since opening the season on Nov. 10 against Austin Peay at the Roundhouse. Chattanooga is averaging 70.0 points per game this season and have outrebounded all but one opponent in six games pulling down an average 42.7 per game. After defeating the Lady Govs in the opener, UTC fell to Tennessee then rebounded with back-to-back wins over Clemson and UAB.
