Haitians still dissatisfied with 'Racist' Vice City

Despite Rockstar already promising to amend future copies of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, removing the phrase 'kill the Haitians' from part of the game's dialogue branded 'racist' by the Haitian community, it now appears that the pressure groups are still dissatisfied, and have seized the continuing momentum to protest against stores still selling copies of the original game. Of course, if members of the minority Haitian community have read the reports concerning this 'racism' in the media, then it is little wonder many are still angry with Rockstar.

Ringo Cayard of the Haitian American Foundation commented that "It's too little, too late", and protests outside stores like Wal-Mart are planned - with protestors incensed that the title has made so much money already. A 'kill the Cubans' line in the game has already come under attack now, too.

'Made Man' (PS2/PC) Coming to North America

Spanning three decades, Joey's story unfurls during a harrowing day in New York as he regales his curious nephew with a cautionary tale of what it takes to make it in the unforgiving world of Cosa Nostra. Organized crime expert and author David Fisher (Joey the Hit Man: The Autobiography of a Mafia Killer, The Good Guys) lends his expertise to the narrative, which includes scenarios based on real-world events, giving gamers an authentic peek inside the world of ruthless wise guys.

"Our culture is fascinated by the Mafia, and Made Man features all of the elements that make for a classic crime drama – power, greed, betrayal and tons of action," said Ted Staloch, Executive Vice President for Publishing at Aspyr Media. "Of course, those are also the ingredients for good daytime television, but you won't ever see a cold, calculating Mafioso blasting his way through 17 challenging levels on Days of our Lives.

Made Man Preview

I was recently invited to sit in on a demo of the upcoming budget title Made Man. Now, there are way too many Mafia/gangster games out these days, and Made Man is entering not only an overcrowded market; it's hitting the now old school PS2 and doesn't have the glitz of a next-gen title. But there are something like 500 gabillijion PS2s out there, and people are still looking for games to play. The fact that this game will only cost twenty bucks is something that could work in its favor.

Originally developed and slated to be released by the long-lost Acclaim, Made Man survived years of development hell and is now being published in the US by Aspyr for a 2007 release. Present at the demo was New York Times best selling author David Fisher, who wrote the story for the game, drawing upon his friendship with former real-life mobster pal Bill Bonanno.

The US Empire: Beginning of the End Game

A 15th century Ottoman Sultan Murat II arranged for Mehmet II, not the favorite son, to be trained in the art of governing at the capital city Edirne, under an able Grand Vizier. Mehmet II had been a wild and disobedient brat, so Murat II advised his teacher use of the rod, which was done to good effect. A Sunni, Mehmet II fell under the unwholesome influence of a Shiia cleric, fought with the Grand Vizier and the military Janissaries rebelled. Before Mehmet II could create further mess, Murat II returned from Manisa, where he had retired for spiritual pursuits and took back the reins of the empire.

US President George W. Bush has made such an unholy mess of US polity and its foreign policy that Papa George W. H Bush, a former President, had to create a bipartisan Baker-Hamilton Commission, not only to salvage, whatever remains of his son's Presidency, but also to arrest the fast decline of the hyper power, still with enormous powers of destruction.

Apple's Mac PC offers world of Windows

Choosing your next computer used to be difficult. But this year, the choice is especially easy, thanks to a kind of computer from one of the oldest manufacturers in the PC business.

The computer is a dual-function PC from Apple Computer, which has been making personal computers since the mid-1970s. It's sold with Apple's advanced internal software, or operating system, along with a suite of programs for managing photos and music, making DVDs, recording audio and doing e-mail and Web browsing.

I've been recommending Apple's computers for many years. These models -- called Macintosh computers, or simply "Macs" -- are easier to use than the ones made by all the other PC makers, called Windows PCs. They're also much safer -- Windows PCs are, literally, under siege from 200,000 viruses and countless spyware invaders, while Macs have no actual viruses or spyware -- and, as if this weren't enough, Macs also tend to last longer.
