Leicester boss Pat Howard's decision to hand youth its chance at Franklin's Gardens backfired as an under-strength Tigers outfit were mauled by Northampton.

England Under-19 internationals Tom Youngs and Ollie Dodge were handed their first starts for Leicester, but a Saints team, missing the likes of Carlos Spencer and Ben Cohen, scored two early tries to all but decide the derby before the break.

The experience of Northampton showed straight from kick-off as they broke the Tigers defence with ease.

Nissan Expands Ad Deal with MSFT

The alliance will include sponsorship of the "Forza Motorsport 2" console game on Microsoft Xbox 360 and global tournament on Xbox Live, and a co-branded "blogazine" for Infiniti on MSN called "Open for Design".

The two companies will also work on search advertising campaigns through Microsoft's adCenter.

"Nissan's target audience is adopting an increasingly mobile lifestyle, and the amount of time consumers spend online is rising significantly," says Jan Thompson, vice president of marketing at NNA. "Broadening our relationship with Microsoft will enable us to deliver targeted messages to consumers across a diverse online network."

New Lord of Rings Director Named

Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson has been told he will be replaced by veteran British screen director Gerald Thomas for the next film adaptation of a JRR Tolkien novel.Thomas is best known for directing the popular Carry On series of movies during the 1960s and 70s. He also directed several episodes of Bless This House, The Army Game and Blankety Blank for television.J Arthur Rank said they wanted to "cheer up the next movie with a few high jinx" and that Thomas was "the perfect choice".The Carry On series made over 1 million pounds for Rank and also saw several TV spin-offs. The Rings trilogy, which were not funny, generated nearly $3billion in cinemas around the world. Fans of Tolkien and the Lord of the Rings films have long called for a film version of The Hobbit, now thought to have been re-named Carry on Hobbit.The film tells the story of how Bilbo Baggins, played by Ronnie Corbett, takes a party of schoolgirls to a campsite and "has it off with them".
