Sony Announces Future Plans: 61 New Games Under Way

Sony knows it needs more games (and, hopefully, good ones) to spice up its hardware sales. Thus, it's no wonder that the company's recent announcement reveals Gargantuan plans: 61 new games will be released for Sony's consoles during the second half of 2007 and early 2008.

The champion of the new releases will be, as expected, the PlayStation 3, with 31 titles. The PlayStationPortable will see 21 games coming its way, while 5 others are dubbed "PlayStation Network exclusive". Last but not least, PlayStation 2 will have its share, the smallest this time: only 4 titles.While the list itself is quite impressive, SCEA's president and CEO Jack Tretton stressed out that: "We still have a few surprises up our sleeve for this fiscal. But I think the games and services we did show at this event really demonstrated the gameplay, community and entertainment possibilities you can only have on PlayStation products."
