Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite

Microsoft's Xbox 360 Elite is here, and this version of the sleek, matte-black game console offers more than just cosmetic improvements. The unit's bolstered specs--such as a 120GB hard disk drive and an HDMI 1.2 connector, perfect for today's high-def TVs--mean more room to store digital content and a better way to view high-definition content. Though I don't think that upgrading to this update of the older Xbox 360 will makes sense for every gamer, the HDMI capability alone makes the Elite a more appealing option if you're considering buying your first Xbox. My first impressions of this new iteration of Microsoft's two-year-old game console are generally positive--particularly with regard to the dramatically improved integration of the optional Xbox 360 HD DVD Player and the improved image quality offered by HDMI (the differences are there, though they aren't as striking as you might expect).A Mostly Breezy Setup Initial setup of the Xbox 360 Elite is a snap: You just select the language and then either establish your Xbox Live account or relink to an existing one.

Multiple Desktop Users on a Single Machine?

_Sharp'r_ asks: "I'm trying to design the least expensive way to make OpenOffice, email, and a web browser available to students in a new charter elementary school. In my past experience working with charitable computer donations, I can usually get three to four working computers out of five donated 'broken' computer systems, usually with plenty of monitors, keyboards and mice left over. I'd like to use one computer for multiple students by attaching multiple monitors, USB keyboards and mice. What drivers/OS versions support multiple local input devices and monitors that can be attached to a specific login session? Will this require virtualization? Is there a config I haven't found that you can use to assign these devices to specific ttys? Have you done this before?" .

Sony Gamers' Day 07: God of War: Chains of Olympus (PSP) details ...

As was officially announced a couple of weeks ago, a new God of War game is in the works - for the PSP. Today (thanks to the Sony Gamers' Day event) we have some new details on the game, as well as two new videos. God of War: Chains of Olympus begins some time after Kratos was tricked into slaughtering his own family, but before the events of God of War and God of War II. It definitely seems to be a main entry in the GoW series, as the events in this installment are said to tie in directly to GoW and GoW II. In the first video, Kratos is shown in the opening stage of the game, battling Persians on a stone rooftop with warships in the background. Many of his trademark moves return, but with a few new ones as well. In the second video, Kratos employs a ballista to destroy one of the warships.

Virtua Fighter 5 Virtua Fighter 5 PS3 Review

Virtua Fighter returns in its fifth incarnation over the last decade, and violence is once again on the agenda. Having paved the way for the 3D fighter genre and for the likes of Tekken and Soul Calibur to follow in its wake, would Virtua Fighter 5 roundhouse kick Sega's flagship fighting game into the next generation on the PS3?

The graphical design is art based rather than true-to-life and you can immediately tell that this looks like a next generation title. The HD resolution is supported up to 720p, so it has not been pushed to the limit, but a lot of time and effort has been put into the characters, environment and backdrops. Speaking of characters, there are now 17 fighters and VF5 includes 2 new combatants from the previous PS2 incarnation. Eileen (using some form of monkey Kung-Fu fighting style) and the Mexican fighting champion 'El Blaze' join a cast of old favourites to battle it out for the fighting crown.
