01:13 New game 'Fracture' announced (0)

LucusArts are known mostly for their work on Star Wars themed games, so this new announcement may come as shock to you when you learn that they are working on something that is not Star Wars. Named Fracture, LucusArts have teamed up with Day 1 Studios to bring an intriguing-sounding game onto people's radar.

The game will throw you into the 22nd Century, in the year 2161. The game sounds like it is going to do what Red Faction did way back on the PS2, whereby you could blow up the scenery and use it to your advantage for finding a different path to the end. However, since this is the new-generation of hardware, Fracture will do it on a much grander scale, with a much grander engine to do it with.

'Terrain Deformation' is the technology behind the game that allows such exciting things as the following to happen:

When Briggs throws a tectonic grenade on a level battlefield, the ground blasts upward to provide access to an otherwise unreachable area.

Jackass to painfully become a video game this September

The Hollywood Reporter has some of the first details on the Jackass crew's first foray into video games. Not surprisingly titled Jackass: The Game, the show's extreme stupidity will be turned into a game for the DS, PSP and PS2. Publisher Red Mile Entertainment and developer Sidhe Interactive expect it in stores on September 24. Original dialogue will be supplied by the Jackass guys, along with their images and brainpower. Knoxville has said he's working closely with the development team to create stunts they wanted to do on the show but never did. The game will include 35 stunts including things like "bumper car races across New York rooftops, unicycling though a construction site, rolling down San Francisco streets in a trash can and destroying a golf course with a golf cart." And if any of these stunts ends badly (and you know they will), there's always the "Bail-Out" option.
