Reader responses regarding "The Mormons" PBS series

Here are Deseret Morning News reader responses regarding "The Mormons" PBS series. In messages where only an e-mail address was available and the message itself did not identify the writer, "no name" is noted.

I personally felt that the documentary was mediocre at best. It was not represented fairly in many areas, why didn't they interview a disfellowshipped and refellowshipped guy, why didn't they include someone who was ex'ed and refellowshipped again? They made it out like we were horrible, yet on the other hand they did represent some things VERY WELL. Why didn't they call the "Authors" what they were, "Anti-Mormons" or "LDS Authors".
Some of the things were very accurate, and some of the things were fuzzy. Joseph Smith being called a man with a huge sexual appetite with many promiscuities.

Hitting the Shelves: Week of May 28, 2007

After a break for Memorial Day -- and moving, just like stalwart 1UP News Editor Patrick Klepek -- we're back with this week's edition of Hitting the Shelves, where we let you know what games are dropping this week and give you a hint of if you should care. Check back every Monday morning for the lowdown on what's on tap every week. Watch for the following games in stores the week of May 28, 2007.

Tuesday, May 29th

Atelier Iris 3: Grand Phantasm (PS2) -- We'll be honest with you -- we have no idea what the hell an Atelier Iris is, either. But does it matter when it's the name behind a well-received RPG series centered around alchemy and slashing monsters in the face? Not one bit. Now why don't you march on over to 1UP's preview or our reviews of the previous two Atelier Iris games.

Final Fantasy Chronicles A New Trailer For Wii

People have complained since the Wiis inception into the next-gen race, that the graphics/visuals for the games arent all that great with the exception of Twilight Princess, of course. But once you see the new Final Fantasy for the Wii, you might think twice about the Wiis graphical power.

Before you get your knickers in a bunch and you let the drool hit the floor, you might want to calm down a bit and take a breather; this game is not coming to North American shores just yet. The trailer is for the Japanese Final Fantasy, which is set to be an exclusive for the Wii. Like many of the other Nintendo-exclusive Crystal Chronicle games, this one will have gamers embarking on a quest unlike its PS3 (and soon Xbox 360) counterparts.

Visually the game is rather stunning.

16:44 Paper Mario gliding onto Virtual Console soon (0)

The latest edition of North American magazine, Nintendo Power, is reporting that the Nintendo 64's Paper Mario will be available on the Wii's Virtual Console service soon.

The rumour would certainly make sense, in a move that would capitalise on the recent release and mass popularity of Super Paper Mario on the Wii. Although, for PAL regions still waiting for said title, it's availability could either serve as a teasing precursor to the next-generation title or a kick in the teeth to gamers in regions that Nintendo's schedulers seemingly love to treat unfairly!

Paper Mario was released towards the end of Nintendo's last cartridge-based console in August 2000 in Japan and then in February and October in North America and Europe respectively. Developed by Intelligent Systems as the spiritual sequel to the Super Nintendo Entertainment System's Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, Paper Mario marked the beginning of the popular series which also went on to spawn a GameCube sequel with its unique graphical style.
