Xavier brings soccer title back home MILWAUKEE The Xavier boys' soccer team learned what it was like to lose at the state tournament level in 2005. Faced with that same possibility with three minutes left in Saturday's WIAA Division 2 state championship match, the Hawks decided that was not going to happen. With Ross Dreier scoring the game-tying goal at 77:08 and Adam Lindsay scoring the game winner at 9:27 of overtime, the Hawks defeated Grafton 2-1 to win the state title at Uihlein Soccer Park. The state soccer title is Xavier's third in the last four years, with the other titles coming in 2003 and 2004. "For last year's seniors and my family, it's just amazing to bring this back again," Lindsay said. "It's just a great, great feeling." Jake Tache, who scored the decisive goal in the semifinal win over Catholic Memorial on Friday, described winning the title as a combination of unreal and awesome.
