Burger King Launches Branded Games for XBox

The games are titled "Pocketbike Racer," a racing game; "Big Bumpin'," which features bumper cars; and "Sneak King," in which the player - as the King mascot - must surprise hungry characters with a BK sandwich. In addition to the King, the games will feature other BK ad characters, such as Brooke Burke and the Subservient Chicken.

The games will allow gamers to play against each other through XBox Live, and the Burger King website currently displays the high scores from the online gaming service.

Advertising and gaming have been bedfellows since console gaming's entry into the mainstream in the '80s.

Sneak King? Sneak King?! Sneeaaaaak King!!!

Say what you want about "advergaming", but personally, I'm 100% on board with four dollar Xbox 360 games featuring the Burger King. One look at this Sneak King trailer and I think you'll agree that camping out for the third time in a month for games does not sound totally irrational. Michael McWhertor

BK 360 Games (Officially) Announced [Kotaku]

21:17 Burger King games out already (1)

Prior to their original release date of the 19th of November, it seems the Burger King games have already been released. Just take a trip down to your local Burger King, order a value meal or three and you can get the games. Plus, we know someone who has played them.

It seems that LinkinPrime, a regular poster and submitter of news in the ICGamers realm, has gotten all three of the games, since they appear on his gamer card. Lucky him, who can now earn up to 600 more Gamerscore points from these games.

Check your local BK, some locations have started selling the games as early as yesterday. I was able to get all 3, they are pretty good. Sneak King was a little disappointing. They require one value meal purchase per game. For some reason Big Bumpin' didnt update on my profile, but I've played it and liked that one the best.

BK markets flamers to gamers

Fast-food chain Burger King has begun selling BK-branded video games along with its burgers and fries, in an effort to build customer loyalty through digital entertainment.Three titles for Xbox and Xbox 360 consoles will sell for $3.99 each with Value Meals purchased at US restaurants. The games include characters from other Burger King ad campaigns, including the Subservient Chicken, a previous website featuring an actor dressed in a chicken suit who performed actions typed interactively by visitors but which was actually an artificial intelligence construction.Pocketbike Racer lets gamers race on miniature motorcycles, while Sneak King asks players to creep around in search of fast food and Big Bumpin' puts them in the seats of dodgem bumper cars.Gamers can pit their wits against each other using Microsoft's Xbox Live online play network, while high scores are tallied on a supporting bkgamer.com website.Selected customers will be picked to play live in the game world with the "King", BK's bearded mascot, who has been given a gamer tag of BurgerKingGWF.

PocketBike Racer Review (Xbox 360)

In their constant quest to dominate every facet of your life, Microsoft has decided to strike up a partnership with the second largest hamburger chain in the world and deliver something that we havent seen for quite some time: French fries and video games. Thats right folks, for the low-low price of $3.99 supposing that youre purchasing a value meal, of course you can be the proud owner of what will assuredly be a collectors item in due time. There are three games in all, each with its own gameplay and mini games to toy around with. Rest assured, these games wont unseat Gears as this holidays most saught after Xbox game, but if youre looking for a few hours of cheap fun, then look no further than the Burger King collection. Gameplay Much like Sneak King and Big Bumpin, Pocketbike Racer is yet another hilarious game placed in standard video game settings.

BK Xbox/360 Games Street Today

Part ad, part creepy stalking video games, the official Burger King games, Sneak King, Pocket Bike Racer and Big Bumpin', hit greasy burger joints nationwide today.

I received the three games late last week, but was too busy with Wii and PS3 stuff to give em a go. Is anyone excited about these playable ads? Brian Crecente

Xbox 360: Sneak King Review Now Online

Companies have teamed up with video game developers to promote their products before (most famously Chase the Chuck Wagon on Atari 2600), but this line of games from Burger King is of particular genius. Carefully crafted to appeal to the young adult males that frequently partake of fast food, the games star BK’s creepy marketing star in roles typically reserved for some of gaming’s biggest heroes. In this review we’ll take a look at Sneak King, which sees the King going Sam Fisher on us.

The goal in Sneak King is to stealthily deliver Burger King meals to hungry people, without scaring them away with the King’s hideously frozen face. The people roaming about the game’s five different areas all follow predictable patterns, with blue cones denoting their line of site. Avoid those lines of sight without making too much noise, and you’ll be able to sneak up on and deliver food to just about anyone. Don’t wait too long however, or those hungry zombies (who apparently don’t know how to fend for themselves) will faint from the hunger pains.

Games Kings Play

While diehard gamers spent Sunday morning camping out for a Nintendo Wii, I had a different video game mission in mind. I sidestepped the long lines and walked right into my local Burger King (NYSE: BKC), ordered myself a value meal, and forked over $3.99 for a copy of the Big Bumpin' Xbox 360 game.

The title, which works on both the 360 and the original Xbox system, is one of three that the fast food giant began selling on Sunday. Yesterday I went ahead and picked up PocketBike Racer to add to my collection. The next time my kids have a hankering for some BK, I will complete the trilogy by ponying up for Sneak King.

At $3.99 a pop -- when most new next-generation games are fetching between $50 and $60 apiece -- I wasn't expecting much. Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) helped produce the games, but Equity Marketing (Nasdaq: EMAK), the company that usually manufactures the kids' meal toy premiums at the chain, is (oddly enough) the one handling the warranty returns.

Gameplay Up first on the chopping block is Sneak King, easily the most simplistic of the three titles, which sadly also means that its got the least amount of depth.

Domestic sport

Sydney survived a furious Cairns comeback to remain the NBL's only unbeaten home team following a 107-104 victory at the Entertainment Centre on Sunday night.

The Kings had a 21-point lead midway through the second term cut to just one point with three minutes left in the third quarter.

But Sydney rallied to move to 11-5 for the season and third on the ladder, ahead of Perth (11-5) on percentage.

In his 50th NBL game, Mark Worthington paced the Kings with 24 points.

New import point guard Ed Scott also showed promising signs in his first game and appears to have the goods to help Sydney's struggling offence.

The Kings also had some lapses at the defensive end, but had enough weapons to sneak home and move to 7-0 at home.

Taipans veteran Martin Cattalini was averaging a league-best 27.7 points per game entering the clash, but he was held to 19 tonight.
