Star Wars 2007 (working title)
Stargate Worlds live long and prosper
If there's one thing I've learned in life, it's to never greet a rabid "Star Wars" fan with a Trekkie's "live long and prosper" hand gesture. Doing that could potentially reduce your chances of living long and prospering. Some people just really glom on to their fandoms. Among all of the fandoms there are in (and out of) this world, space operas have the strongest and most deeply-rooted fanbases.
One such sci-fi space opera is "Stargate". With this, it was only a matter of time before they thought of creating an MMORPG based on this universe. Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment is spearheading the project and Stargate Worlds will base it on the "Stargate SG-1" and "Stargate Atlantis" canon, with development already undergoing the final stages of pre-production. Expect to be able to play races such as Humans, Asgard, Symbiotes, Jaffa, and Unas - each having their own factions and classes.
A Feeling of Deja Vu
Im cautiously optimistic, and I dont know why. Im excited about the Wii. It has a great launch lineup, perhaps the best of any Nintendo console to date. It has an incredible flagship game right off the bat: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. I even have a strong feeling about the marketing and advertising efforts of Nintendo -- finally the company seems to have found a stable and solid image and direction. In fact, I cant recall anticipating a game system this much. Waitthats a lie. I have been this excited before. It was exactly five years ago, when the GameCube (GCN) was nearing launch. I felt the same way then about most of these issues and believed Nintendo was back on the fast track to success. I was wrong. Very wrong. All my instincts tell me that the Wii is different and will turn the tides for Nintendo, but this feeling of dj vu is unnerving.

He came to me while I took my morning bath in the river Ganjihe told me to find the three-eyed woman. She will direct me to the fleshpots of Calcutta and there, I shall find the ultimate test. I shall hang from the tree of woe, and it is there that I will achieve total enlightenment.
Introduction Welcome to the weekly dose of news and views that you crave. I, as always am you host Larry Csonka and we have stuff to talk about. Not exactly a lot of news this week, but we have some stuff to discuss. I got to relax a bit this weekend, which was nice. Saturday I did work, while the wife and kid attended Veterans Day festivities. Warsaw NC apparently has the longest running Veterans Day celebration so it is a huge deal here. Parade, food, vendors, rides for the kids, ceremonies; the whole shebang really.
