SWAT: Target Liberty PSP Screenshots

Part of an award-winning lineage of games, SWAT: Target Liberty captures the heart-pumping action of real-life close quarters combat of specialized police units. With the help of Ken Thatcher, a 29-year Los Angeles S.W.A.T. veteran enlisted as the game's consultant, SWAT: Target Liberty for the PSP system captures the same authenticity as previous titles.

Penned by script writer Scott Rosenbaum (The Shield), the SWAT: Target Liberty game action is set in New York City where a special weapons and tactics team is tasked with thwarting an ever increasing number of international terrorist threats. Each officer in the unit has a specialty and using a unique skill system, the player can upgrade their individual combat expertise to increase their chances of success. The game will also feature an ad-hoc multiplayer system which allows gamers to play in a variety of game modes.

Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron Coming to PSP This Fall

Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron, the next installment of the Star Wars Battlefront series of videogames, will hit store shelves everywhere in fall 2007, LucasArts announced today. Here is more from the announcement: "In development exclusively for the PSP (PlayStationPortable) system by U.K.-based Rebellion, Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron continues the immensely successful Battlefront series, which has sold more than 10 million copies worldwide since its introduction in 2004.The only original Star Wars Battlefront experience of 2007, Renegade Squadron delivers a new way for players to experience their favorite Star Wars battles any way - and anywhere - they want. The game presents new battles and missions found through a never-before-told story, as well as an unprecedented wealth of personalization and customization options.

Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron Exclusive to PSP

After a somewhat indifferent Star Wars Battlefront II, which lost some of its force when ported to the PSP, LucasArts have now announced Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron as an exclusive release for the Sony Playstation Portable, coming in Fall 2007. Renegade Squadron will support online multiplayer matches, up to 16 players, co-op or against other teams. We agree with PocketGamer that Star Wars games have to date been pretty much hit and miss with some rotten apples well amongst the good ones, but LucasArts this PSP exclusive will be a hit.

The storyline, as described by LucasArts: "Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron is the previously untold story of a ragtag ensemble of battle-hardened rogues and scoundrels assembled by Han Solo. Gathered to execute some of the most secretive operations in the Rebel Alliance's war against the Galactic Empire, the Renegade Squadron participates in battles spanning the galaxy.

AIGO's Cool Box handheld games device

Round my way, a cool box is what you put your sarnies in to keep them nice and fresh for a picnic. Not in AIGO's opinion though. Cool Box is the firm's new handheld gaming device, which has just been unveiled at the CHITEC 2007 exhibition.

It sports an unorthodox design though: the D-pad on the left of its screen is standard, but there's three rather than four buttons on the right: A, B and, er, M. Even more intriguingly, the device has a camera built in, on its back.

There's also what appears to be a memory card slot, while the shots of the accompanying marketing materials mentioning MP3 playback too. No news on who's making games for the Cool Box and how you'll get them onto the device, or indeed whether it's slated for a release outside the Asia-Pacific region.
