Relic changes course, looks at RPGs and MMOs

Whenever a developer comes up with a good title, fans are immediately drawn not only to the game but to the developer itself. Take for example Rockstar Games' GTA series. We're pretty sure the moment Rockstar deviates from GTA and develops a totally new title, all fans will be sure to give it a second look.

Vancouver-based Relic Entertainment on the other hand, has always been known for real time strategy titles such as Company of Heroes and Homeworld among others. Earlier this year, the company made an exception when it developed The Outfit, an action strategy game for the Xbox360. Unfortunately for the developer, their first attempt didn't quite generate a lot of attention.

However, it seems that the company is not a bit disappointed with this (at least according to THQ).

PC Review: Secret Files: Tunguska

On the morning of the 30 June, 1908, hundreds of eyewitnesses observed inexplicable and previously unseen phenomena in the skies above the Tunguska region. Just a few minutes later, several huge explosions with the destructive force of 2,000 Hiroshima bombs shattered the stillness of the boundless central Siberian highlands. In just a short space of time, a flaming inferno reduced everything to dust and ashes, and an unimaginable blast wave snapped trees like matchsticks, hurling the inhabitants of a settlement 20 km away, and their reindeer, through the air. Despite countless expeditions, no crater and no meteorite parts have ever been found; scientists today are still searching for answers. In the Secret Files: Tunguska adventure game, attractive mechanic Nina Kalenkov sets out on a dangerous quest to find her missing father.

PC Game Review: The Sims 2 Pets

Electronic Arts and Maxis have done it again with this worthy Sims 2 addition full of challenges, fun and features in this popular life simulation series.

This PC version allows you to create your own pet, breed, sell (approach another Sims and ask them if they want to buy your pet – adoption is also available) and even adopt lovable animals by phone.

If you’re already familiar with The Sims 2, which you of course need to run this expansion pack, then you can dive right into the furry fun. Don’t fret new users, the learning curve is low and you can also find detailed information in the Game Tip Encyclopedia located at the book icon at the bottom of the screen.

Players can’t control their pets directly, so be sure you have a good people infrastructure before obtaining your pets.
